A very good machine!5
I have given the Phaser 6180MFP five stars in all available categories. Had there been a categories for “Ease of setup” and “Documentation” it would have gotten four and three stars respectively in those.
That said, the Phaser 6180MFP is a very reliable workhorse that does everything it is supposed to do and does it well.
Xerox customer service is pretty good; waiting time is minimal and the a.e. is resonably understandable.

My main printing is training manuals (hundreds of pages duplex color printing). I scan every document I get and keep truly paperless archives.
My faxing is minimal but I use a dual number single line with an automatic switch. It works as it should.
I do not use the email feature and make very few hard copies.

Kill Bill - Volume Two

Is Kill Bill – Volume Two the Best Movie Ever Made?

With this thrilling, must-see movie event, writer and director Quentin Tarantino (PULP FICTION) completes the action-packed quest for revenge begun by The Bride (Uma Thurman) in KILL BILL VOL. 1! Having already crossed two names from her Death List, The Bride is back with a vengeance and taking aim at Budd (Michael Madsen) and Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah), the only survivors from the squad of assassins who betrayed her four years earlier. It’s all leading up to the ultimate confrontation with Bill (David Carradine), The Bride’s former master and the man who ordered her execution! As the acclaimed follow-up to the instant classic VOL. 1 — you know all about the unlimited action and humor, but until you’ve seen KILL BILL VOL. 2, you only know half the story!

Is Kill Bill – Volume Two the Best Movie Ever Made?

Reviews:

The epic is now complete5
I was lucky last year in that I got to see Kill Bill volume 1 weeks before it was released last year. I thought it was one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen on film and went on to see it eight times in theaters. I even chose it as the best film of 2003. Surpassing even the mighty Lord of the Rings. Something I thought would never happen. Me being a big Lord of the Rings fan.

So with such high praise for volume 1 my hopes were very high for volume 2. And it more than delivers. Where volume 1 focused more on the action and was fast paced. This one is at a slower pace and is more dialogue driven. Which is what Tarantino does best anyway. At approximately two and a half hours it is also a lot longer than the first one. Don’t worry though Kill Bill volume 2 is not without it’s share with great fight scenes and memorable new characters. The most memorable is Pei Mei the martial arts master who trained the bride and the other members of the Dead Viper Assassination Squad. Played wonderfully by Gordon Liu (who also played Johnny Mo in volume 1) Pei Mei even over shadows the mighty Hattori Hanzo played by Sonny Chiba in volume 1.

Other memorable performances come from Michael Madsen as Budd a.k.a Sidewinder and David Carradine as Bill. Madsen gives another Mr. Blonde caliber performance as the former assassin turned trailer park alcoholic. Claustrophobics take caution the confrontation between Budd and the Bride is really intense and very claustrophobic. Darryl Hannah is deliciously evil as Elle Driver. She’s about as evil as can be. What should be noted is the fight between Elle and the Bride. What is unquestionably one of the most knock down, drag out, intense fights ever put to film. Tarantino pulls no punches here. Huge credit should once again be given to the sound department on this one. You can almost feel ever blow. It is the best fight in the whole of Kill Bill.

Never seen and only heard in volume 1 we finally get to see the performance we’ve been waiting for. David Carradine is of course great in the title role. He plays the role with such a laid back ease. Both intimidating and cool. You don’t know whether to sympathize with the guy or hate him.

Those who said Uma Thurman deserved an Oscar nomination last year will probably say the same thing this year and then some. Where Thurman was praised for the intense action in volume 1, in this one she really goes all out. No longer a nameless assassin out for revenge she is now with a name (to be revealed in the film) and is now seen more as a person then a nameless killer. Not that the nameless killer thing was a bad thing. It was a great action role. This time the emotions come out. Thurman really lets herself go in the emotional scenes. Well worthy of a nomination.

So is Kill Bill volume 2 a worthy conclusion? Absolutely. Is it as action packed as volume 1? No. But that’s not a bad thing because we get more of the great Tarantino dialogue. Was there anything I found wrong with the film? Well, there was one little thing. The credits go on forever. So if your like me and you like to sit through the credits you’ve been warned. Kill Bill volume 2 will not be without it’s enemies. Those who didn’t like volume 1 will probably not enjoy this one. If you’re a fan of volume 1 then you should be more then satisfied.

An Amazing Conclusion to this tale of revenge5
Several months ago, eclectic director Quentin Tarantino regaled our senses with a visceral thrill-ride known as “Kill Bill: Volume 1″. This first half of Tarantino’s epic tale of revenge introduced to the enigmatic former assassin known as the Black Mamba (Uma Thurman) and the circumstances that led her to embark on a quest to `kill Bill’. Mamba miraculously survived an assassination by Bill and his current hit squad (although her entire wedding party was murdered), only to end up in a coma for four years. Once she regained consciousness, she began to exact brutal vengeance on those responsible.

In “Vol. 1″ she took out Vernita Green/”Copperhead” (Vivica A. Fox) and O-Ren Ishii/”Cottenmouth” (Lucy Liu). The revenge was purely physical and graphically brutal. It was a veritable assault of visual images and thrilled the audience with the completeness and thoroughness of Mamba’s revenge. Fascinatingly, “Kill Bill: Volume 2″ is a drastically different film even though it continues the same story. “Vol. 2″ takes a more philosophical approach to Mamba’s revenge, whereas “Vol. 1″ was the more physical approach. While more talkative possessing less action, “Vol. 2″ is no less effective than “Vol. 1″. What “Vol. 2″ brings is the rest of the story that “Vol. 1″ rightfully left out. In this concluding episode, we now know more about the history between Bill and Mamba. We learn more about why Bill ordered Mamba’s assassination. As an added bonus, after seeing a steely-eyed killing machine in “Vol. 1″, we get to see a more vulnerable Mamba in this installment. The combination of the two volumes completes this story. One is the yin to the other’s yang. The choice to split the film into two parts now not only seems correct, but essential.

Doubts about Tarantino still having `it’ should be full dispelled by this incredible cinematic achievement. “Kill Bill” honors martial-arts films of the past while setting a standard for future films to emulate. “Kill Bill” manages to thrill the senses while challenging the mind. Tarantino showed that he had this talent when he made “Pulp Fiction”. “Kill Bill” is the next step in the evolution of Tarantino’s work. Where he goes from here is anyone’s guess, but it has the potential to be spectacular.

Less Violence, More Dialogue5
‘Kill Bill Vol. 2′ concludes Quentin Tarantino’s revenge saga of a femme fatale assasin that seeks revenge on those that attempted to murder when she sought her own life. Like the first volume, the story is told through chapters that alternate between flashbacks and the present action.

Uma Thurman plays the Bride, who was nearly murdered at her own wedding by her former boss, Bill, and her the rest of the members of the Deadly Viper Assasin Squad (I think I got that right). In part one, she awoke after a four year coma to take revenge on two of the lady assasins played by Lucy Liu and Vivica Fox. Now she is after Sidewinder, played by a Tarantine regular Michael Madsen, the California Mountain Snake, played by Daryl Hannah, and Bill himself, played by Kung-Fu’s David Carradine.

Where volume one was nearly all action as the Bride took her revenge on two of her former associates while subtly setting up the plot, volume two tones down the action while telling the rest of the story. Tarantino talks about this quite a lot in the DVD featurette. The trademark Tarantino dialogue is featured in key scenes between Marsden and Carradine (talking about revenge and the past) and between Carradine and Thurman (talking about comic book heros and the self we present to others). There are a few writers that have such a distinctive style for dialogue, and Tarantino’s is truly unique.

Despite the reduction in action, this is still a great film. If you have an afternoon to spare, I recommend watching both volume one and two consecutively, and then watch the featurettes that talk about the films. Or, watch the films at your leisure, then watch the featurettes and then watch the films again. There is a lot to these films, and some of it is very subtle. Listening to Tarantino and the cast talk about the films opens new ways of looking at them.

Also on the DVD is a commentary, a live performance from the premiere, and a deleted scene. The deleted scene is an homage of sort to old kung-fu and karate movies. It is very over the top, and really had little to do with the rest of the movie. While the film itself lacks the geysers of blood from the first movie, this deleted scene has a few of its own. Watch it at your own risk. While on the subject of gore, there is still plenty of it in this movie. The squeemish will wince in a few places, but the blood is significantly less than the first volume.

This film is part kung-fu movie, part old spaghetti Western, and all revenge flick. Tarantino fans will be delighted. Those that liked ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Reservoir Dogs’ should also like this film. Throw this movie in the DVD player the next chance you get, but tuck the kids in first.

“The Bride” (Uma Thurman) gets her satisfaction–and so do we–in Quentin Tarantino’s “roaring rampage of revenge,” Kill Bill, Vol. 2. Where Vol. 1 was a hyper-kinetic tribute to the Asian chop-socky grindhouse flicks that have been thoroughly cross-referenced in Tarantino’s film-loving brain, Vol. 2–not a sequel, but Part Two of a breathtakingly cinematic epic–is Tarantino’s contemporary martial-arts Western, fueled by iconic images, music, and themes lifted from any source that Tarantino holds dear, from the action-packed cheapies of William Witney (one of several filmmakers Tarantino gratefully honors in the closing credits) to the spaghetti epics of Sergio Leone. Tarantino doesn’t copy so much as elevate the genres he loves, and the entirety of Kill Bill is clearly the product of a singular artistic vision, even as it careens from one influence to another. Violence erupts with dynamic impact, but unlike Vol. 1, this slower grand finale revels in Tarantino’s trademark dialogue and loopy longueurs, reviving the career of David Carradine (who plays Bill for what he is: a snake charmer), and giving Thurman’s Bride an outlet for maternal love and well-earned happiness. Has any actress endured so much for the sake of a unique collaboration? As the credits remind us, “The Bride” was jointly created by “Q&U,” and she’s become an unforgettable heroine in a pair of delirious movie-movies (Vol. 3 awaits, some 15 years hence) that Tarantino fans will study and love for decades to come. –Jeff Shannon

After several excursions into supernatural horror, Dario Argento returned to the homicidal frenzy that made his reputation with this mystery that plays more like a grown-up slasher movie than a detective thriller. Anthony Franciosa stars as Peter Neal, a bestselling horror novelist whose promotional tour in Italy takes a terrible turn when a mysterious killer re-creates the brutal murders from his book with real-life victims. The first to die are so-called “deviants,” Neal’s own friends, and finally there comes a promise that the author himself is next on the list. Columbo it ain’t, but Argento has always been more concerned with style than story and his execution of the crimes is pure cinematic bravura. From the simple beauty of a straight razor shattering a light bulb (the camera catches the red-hot filament slowly blacking out) to an ambitious crane shot that creeps up and over the sides of a house under siege in a voyeuristic survey that would make Hitchcock proud, Argento turns the art of murder into a stylish spectacle. He even lets his kinkier side show with flashbacks of an adolescent boy and a teasing dominatrix in red stiletto heels that become a key motif of the film. The objects of Argento’s homicidal tendencies are traditionally lovely, scantily clad Italian beauties, and with self-deprecating humor he even inserts a scene in which Neal is taken to task for the misogynist violence of his stories–an accusation Argento himself has weathered for years. –Sean Axmaker

Mind games from the master stylist: Top-drawer Argento4

TENEBRE

(Italy – 1982)

Aspect ratio: 1.85:1
Theatrical soundtrack: Mono

While fans may be divided over the relative merits (or not) of Dario Argento’s recent output, there’s no denying the sheer visceral power of his earlier accomplishments. TENEBRE contains some of the most genuinely frightening material in Argento’s entire filmography, and some of the best performances too. Anthony Franciosa is quietly convincing in his role as an American writer in Rome, targeted by an obsessive killer who’s been modelling a series of murders on scenes from the author’s latest book; and the hugely underrated John Saxon provides a memorable turn as Franciosa’s shady literary agent (his final scene is a small masterpiece of observation, brilliantly edited).

The rest of the cast is less sure-footed, perhaps because these veteran European actors – including Daria Nicolodi and Giuliano Gemma – aren’t entirely comfortable performing in English, though the entire cast play second fiddle to the director’s bravura execution of the outlandish scenario. Argento takes great delight in toying with the audience’s expectations and misdirecting them with clever bits of visual trickery, whilst punctuating the narrative with a series of horrific ‘exclamation marks’ (such as Veronica Lario dying in a spectacular welter of gore), culminating in a truly shocking finale. What’s more, he indulges his trademark eccentricities without obscuring the plot or the characterisations, and the film takes its place alongside DEEP RED (1975) as one of the enduring giallos of the 20th century. A triumph.

Cinematically important4
As a film maker I cannot express how interesting it is to hear Argento talking about his own creations. Many critics, film historians and even audiences have never really taken Argento seriously, which is a real shame for them. Tenebrae is a beautifully crafted film, and although not as feverish as Suspiria or Inferno, the viewer still feels as if they are stuck in a really horrible dream. Argento is a worldclass director with a frighteningly voyeristic style. I found the scene where the girl finds out that she is in the murderers house and has to run away from the guard dogs so incredibly exploitative and nasty that i couldn’t keep my eyes off it, just like when average people pass a car accident on the street. The ending just blows you away. I love this film and I really want Inferno, Suspiria and deep Red on DVD too.

Phenomenal effort5
After seeing Dario Argento’s 1982 (it is ‘82, not ‘87) film “Tenebrae,” I have moved into the final phases of seeing his entire body of work. It was easy to claim ignorance of many of this Italian director’s films until a few years ago because it was difficult to find them anywhere, let alone in an uncut form. Fortunately, DVD arrived on the scene and eager film fans with dollars to spend inspired numerous companies to start churning out any movie they could get their hands on. It wasn’t too long before practically every Argento film arrived on store shelves, many of them in uncut, unrated formats. Unfortunately, most viewers have likely never heard of Dario Argento. These days more people know about the director’s beautiful daughter Asia than the horror maestro himself. What a shame. Argento’s films, at least the ones I have seen, are masterpieces of style injected with truly cringe inducing violence. For a few years in the 1980s and 1990s, Argento drifted away from his tried and true giallo formula, only recently returning to some semblance of form with “The Stendhal Syndrome” and “Sleepless.” “Tenebrae” was Argento’s first “return” to the giallo genre, after he strayed into the supernaturally themed “Suspiria” and “Inferno.”

I happen to think “Tenebrae” may well be the best Argento film I have seen, even better than his first wave of gialli. It’s the story of Peter Neal (Anthony Franciosa), a popular writer of disturbing novels who travels to Italy to promote his latest thriller. Unfortunately for Neal, and more so for several other people, a killer decides to imitate the murders laid out in the author’s most recent book. It isn’t too long before the local police, in the form of Detective Germani (Giuliano Gemma), make the connection between the homicides and Neal’s book. With his assistant Anna (Daria Nicolodi), book agent Bullmer (John Saxon), and a young man named Gianni (Christian Borromeo) standing by his side, the popular novelist soon joins the investigation into these grisly crimes. And grisly they are as only Dario Argento can make them. We see throat slashings, stabbings, a hand liberated from a wrist, and other gooey surprises shot in the sort of alarming, extreme close up that is a trademark of this director’s brand of cinematic carnage. “Tenebrae” constitutes one of Argento’s most disturbingly violent escapades into the giallo genre. It is, fortunately, one of his most coherent films as well.

Neal continues to promote his book even as he helps the police in the hunt for the killer. He faces a slew of protests about the supposedly misogynistic, ultra violent content of his novels from an angry female protestor and from a smarmy television critic on one of those face-to-face talk shows. Both of Neal’s critics perish horribly soon after (surprise, surprise), thus throwing some suspicion on the author himself as a prime suspect. Of course, many others could very well be the ones putting on the black gloves. The only real clue we get from Argento, if you can call it that, is a weird flashback of a young woman tormenting a boy with her red-heeled shoes. As creepy carnival style music plays throughout the flashback, we then see the focus shift to the killer stepping out from behind a hedgerow to stab the woman. What this memory means, and why we see it from the perspective of the killer, soon emerges as “Tenebrae” draws to its ultra shocking conclusion. And the conclusion is shocking, containing some of the most graphic gore I’ve seen as well as a truly gasp worthy revelation I won’t elaborate on here except to say other films (”Nightmares in a Damaged Brain” comes to mind) have used it to great effect. “Tenebrae” is a real treat for the horror fan.

Apparently, “Tenebrae” came about after a crazed fan stalked Dario Argento. Whatever the impetus for making this film, the result is one of the director’s most entertaining excursions into the realms of horror. Aside from the graphic gore, we also get the requisite Argento photographic style. Check out that crane shot of the outside of the apartment building, a shot that runs on forever while building the suspense up to a fever pitch. Then there’s the great chase scene with the dog, and the murder of the television critic that we see through the windows of his house. Argento truly achieves a masterful vision of mayhem with “Tenebrae.” The performances, although dubbed in spots, are darn effective too. Franciosa does a great job playing the happy go lucky Peter Neal, and it’s always great to see John Saxon in another horror film (even if he does spend a lot of time messing around with that confounded hat!). “Tenebrae” also ratchets up the suspense by employing yet another mesmerizing synthesizer score from Goblin. The music heard doing those flashback sequences ranks as one of the eeriest bits of music I’ve ever heard in a horror movie. Yes sir, “Tenebrae” worked on nearly every level for this genre fan.

Dario Argento would go on to make several non-giallo films after “Tenebrae” (”Phenomena” starring a young Jennifer Connolly among them) before heading back to his roots again. None of his recent black-gloved nightmare thrillers, however, can match the pounding intensity of this movie. Extras on the DVD include a commentary track, an alternate end credits music piece, and a couple of behind the scenes looks at the film. Less here than on other discs, perhaps, but the movie is so good you won’t care. I’m starting to get a little sad since I’m running out of Argento films to watch for the first time. Nonetheless, I now know I can always come back to “Tenebrae” when I want to see the best Dario Argento has to offer.

Customer Reviews:

Almost perfect complete office suite4
I recently upgraded to the HP6310 from the HP7110 a machine I was more than happy with. The move has been excellent, all functions are faster particularly color printing, the unit is significantly more compact and the quality of images are also a serious upgrade. The unit has almost no shake and is extremely quiet in operation, particularly in comparison with my old 7110. In addition the price differential between this machine and the much inferior HP5610 is very small.

New features include the ability to take several formats of camera memory cards and read directly from them to print contact sheets, six ink color with inkjet photo ink and up to 24 x 8.5 prints. There are also wired and wireless network options etc but I have not used them.

Installation was a breeze, I was up and running in maybe 10 minutes, the controls are intuitive but if needed the instruction book is unusually easy to follow.

Why not five stars: it drinks ink and the cartridges are small -that gets expensive.

If you can live with the ink issue this is a great machine for the home office or small business.

Perfect little all-in-one printer!4
I have a home office set up so that I can sometimes work from home. I was tired of having 3 different printers (laser, inkjet, inkjet with scanner and copier) and a fax machine. This nifty little guy replaced all four machines! It works wonderfully. The print quality is very good, better then I expected. For someone that uses it to print presentation materials, the occasional personal photos, send faxes, scan, and make copies, this machine is a great addition.

I did have some trouble initially installing it to my pc. But I’ve heard it takes a little trouble in the begining for Windows XP’s. Eitherway once the installation is fully complete (which I did by myself without any HP assistence, by just working at the kinks) it is good to go and a great asset. I’ve even used it to print business presentations materials already and they came out better then at my local Staples copy center.

In my humble and not printer savvy opinion, I believe this is a great machine at a very good price for all the other machines it eliminates.

It does everything just fine, and the network access is great.4
We got the 6310 because we needed a fax, our color inkjet had broken, we’d thought about needing a copier, and our scanner was very old.

This unit does a great job as a fax: it is easy to send multi-page paxes directly from your computer or from the unit itself. While it took a little bit of configuring to get it to output confirmation pages from sent faxes (you’d think it would do this by default, but it’s a feature you have to enable), it’s (so far) been a very reliable and hassle-free fax, which is more than I can say for some standalone faxes.

This does a pretty good job as a color (and photo) printer. It’s not a dedicated color printer (like some of the Epson units that cost as much as this all-in-one), and that shows in its speed and overall fidelity. But it’s pretty darned good, and will meet the average user’s photo needs and almost all user’s non-photo needs.

The copier works well. It takes a little while to get going, but once it starts, it’s reasonably fast on low-quality mode. Multipage copies are easy with the sheet-feeder.

The scanner is fine. It’s not the best or worst of scanners. I think it can be unbelievably slow sometimes, and the fact that it does not allow multi-page scanning with the built-in sheet feeder is dumb. I’m hoping that a 3rd-party vendor will release a driver allowing me to take advantage of the sheet-feeder for scanning.

One huge thing in this unit’s favor is the network access. Scanning over our wireless network means that my wife and I can both use the scanner without dragging different wires into our notebooks (hers runs Windows 2000, mine runs OS X).

I’d give this unit 3/5, but the network connectivity really pushes it up to 4 stars.

Customer Reviews:

Great flat iron.5
I purchased this product after the one I purchased at my local mall fell and the plates shattered. I was upset at first because they broke, but I had to remember they were all ceramic. I really loved the flat iron because it leaves your hair shiny and silky to the touch, but didn’t have the money to pay the whopping $100.00 price.I am a penny pincher so I was really impressed with it to shell out that much money. When my daughter found it on Amazon I was kicking myself for not checking Amazon first. I have had this product for quite a while now and it is still working great. It is being shared by three people in my household, so it is used on a daily basis. I am also in a transitioning stage, going from relaxed to natural hair. I am African-American with thick coarse hard to straighten hair and this product straightens my hair great. And the case is a definate plus, it is a heat protected case and I use it to protect my counter tops and it comes in handy when I have to do a quick touch up and drop it in my overnight bag.

I’ve purchased quite a few but this is the best….5
I recommend this flat iron to ANYONE who wants to save money going to the shop. I’m an african american woman with german ancestry. My hair is fairly long and when it’s wet it’s curly and VERY soft and it’s naturally sandy blonde (so it can get dry from time to time)- when I blow dry it, it gets fairly straight but with the flat iron I can curl AND straighten in 30min. Sometimes 20min – but the thing that gets me is I lay on my hair at night and the next day it’s STILL nice!!!! – very bouncy and NO frizzies and no dryness – it leaves a nice sheen to my hair – all I do is spray a VERY VERY VERY light oil sheen to my hair to add a very nice sheen to it – EVERYONE thinks I go to the shop but I save about $110 a month – this is how I do my hair:
* I wash with Dove shampoo (after trying NUMEROUS shampoos and conditioners this brand works PERFECT with my hair leaving it SO SOFT)
* I condition with Dove shampoo and comb it thru with a big tooth comb and then rinse it out
* I use either Dove leave in conditioner spray OR Panteen light leave in conditioner spray to add moisture to my hair
* I then blow dry it straight
* Then my favorite part – I use my herstyler flat irons…My husband LOOOOOOVES the way I do my hair and I didn’t spend a heap of money at the salon. My girlfriend paid $120 for two of them but I got mines here on ebay for 1/2 that price…I LOVE THEM!

Very disappointed1
The ceramic plates chipped within two weeks of purchasing this product. There was no abuse to the product – it simply chipped when it was set down on the sink. I have tried to email multiple times to get a new one, but no one at the company will get back to me. This is the worst purchase I’ve ever made.

I don’t know if this is like a placebo effect, but when I installed this baby I realized that it had better bass response than the original. Highly recommend if your stock headphone jack went south.

Ipod Phone jack.5
This thing went in without a hitch… I really appreciated that there was a tool shipped with the jack to assist in opening the ipod. Works perfect… I would buy from this seller again.

Reviews:

A good product !4
I waited a few months after purchasing this tv, before attempting a review.

MY experiences/opinions are (scale of 1-10, 10 being the best):

Handling, ability to move to desired location: 10 … light, easy for 1 person to move, maneuver, install on stand

Easiness to initially setup/get useful asap: 10 … You really do NOT need the directions, but they are excellent

Connections amount,availability, setup: 10 … I have cable, a PS3, and Xbox360, dvd … too easy if you ask
me !

Viewing: 9 … great from even extreme angles. Adjustments in the menu DO fine tune your individual needs.
: the 1080P shines in action movies, sports, and especially video games … resolution is phenomenal !
: I’ve experienced NO bleeding of colors or blurriness in high speed transitions

Audio: 7 … OK at best, but I bought it for its viewing capabilities, NOT expecting a ‘Bose’ audio capacity.
One of its menu items allows you to keep advertising volumes the same as network broadcast volumes…
Mine does NOT function that way… commercials still too loud

I have it (easily connected to) enhanced by my stereo system, so this is a wash as far as I am concerned
when wanting to listen to a Nascar race, music concert, or other venue.

Price: I did a LOT of homework, and found the price very acceptable in comparison to other tv’s boasting
similar if not identical capabilities… I bought mine on sale at Best Buy, but lucked into a good price

Green : Not much heat coming out of the uppermost exhaust vents

My end result: A great buy.

YES, a thumbs “UP” !

After owning a SONY HD tv, and experienced their lack of customer attention/satisfaction… a
lack of callback on their part force me to forever part with them as a trusted manufacturer.
In my opinion, their (SONY) trusted name is forever trashed/overpriced… if they will not
service what they sell… I want no part of them !

I love this tv!5
I’m watching baseball on the LN40B530 as I write this, and am blown away by the crisp picture and wonderful colors. The sound is fine as far as my family is concerned. I did make some adjustments to the equalizer, which improved how it sounded right out of the box. I walked past the “tv wall” at a local Best Buy, and to me this TV looked as good as the ones in the $2,000-and-up range. As far as its being “only” 60hz, it looked better than some of the 120hz ones. Maybe if you’re a heavy gamer that’s an important consideration, but nobody here is. Our previous TV was a Hitachi plasma EDTV that we thought was great, but this is a big improvement. Can’t wait to see a blue-ray disc on it. I wonder if the previous reviewer had a defective one. None of their complaints are true of this unit at all.

Great LCD!!5
I this is my 2nd LCD and the picture quality is amazing! With 60,000:1 contrast ratio, the colors just POP and make everything look realistic. Standard definition picture quality is good(i.e. standard cable), but HD quality is amazing. My last set was a philips and the colors on people’s faces didn’t quite look realistic but this samsung, everything looks realistic. The picture settings out of the box are pretty good but with a little adjustment(you can find calibration settings online) the PQ is amazing. The only compliant I have with this TV is the sound which is more than acceptable though.

From the Manufacturer
Manufacturer’s Review (April 23, 2009)
It won’t take long for you to notice how beautiful the LN40B530 is. With a sleek, black bezel and new transparent bottom edge, it’s the perfect addition to your entertainment space. 1080p resolution produces the highest quality picture on the market and blacks and shadows are strikingly superb, thanks to the 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Best of all, this HDTV is Energy Star compliant, which means you’ll save on your electric bill.

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?

HDTV Size chart With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

Customer Reviews:

Doing it with class, cause I got a big ass.4
So I’ll be the first to admit that season 1 is more entertaining than season 2…but I’ll be completely honest here, this show could become the worst show on television and I’d still watch it. Luckily though, it’s not the worst show on television. Season 2 is still great. The dvd however is lacking. Just as the first season on dvd, it is censored and lacking in extras. But for the price, I’d say it’s worth the purchase.

Awesome!5
I love Keeping Up with the Kardashians. It is my favorite show and I was so happy to finally get this season on DVD. It shipped super fast and was brand new just like they said. :)

Funny family!5
I have enjoyed the show for the past couple of years. What I like the most is that this is a family that really cares about one another.
