Don’t buy, its a fraud
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I purchased this while enrolled in a Community college digital photography class. After providing every piece of documentation to the third party verification company they still will not activate the product, and they only give you 15 days to do so and you lose your money. We sent: photocopy of drivers license, copy of receipt for class fees, copy of enrollment, copy of transcript, copy of everything they ask for and the third party verification service keeps denying it without any SPECIFIC reason why or any elaboration on what you need to do to correct whatever they are unsatisfied with. There is no phone # to talk to a human being, no email address for an individual…SHAME ON YOU ADOBE….

Photoshop Fiasco
Be careful before purchasing this product from AMAZON. We thought we were getting a Student version, but it turned out to be a college student only version after we opened and tried to access the software. Adobe would not allow us to access the software because it was summer and school wasn’t in session and we needed to be in college not high school. Thus, we lost all our money since Amazon doesn’t take back software that’s been opened The verification process took weeks so we would have missed the return date anyway, even if a date was possible. Not a good experience.

Hardly a need to comment on CS4, but perhaps some clarification on the registration process that, ironically with such a involved/sophisticated program, so many have struggled with (it is simple & straightforward). 1st, and important to note, the registration has NOTHING to do with Amazon – it doesn’t matter how one obtains the product. The registration process is performed by a 3rd party “eligibility verification service”, Identit-E, LLC, who does not appear to have ties to either Adobe or Amazon. The process and requirements can also be reviewed PRIOR to buying for those with worries – simply go to [...]. And, at least on the 10/08 printing of my instructions (not specific to the Mac or Windows version), the link IS written correctly. Note Amazon’s page for the CS4 Extended Student Edition states it was 1st available on Amazon 24NOV08 (i.e., well after the instructions were printed).

With all that said, my registration was relatively painless and easy – CERTAINLY worth the effort considering the substantial discount Adobe gives on the Student Editions! And note Adobe will readily state the ONLY difference between the Student and regular editions is (effectively) the packaging – i.e., the Student Edition requires the verification process to obtain the Serial Number, whereas the regular edition has the Serial Number on a sticker already on the purchased product. Regardless, the product will work (immediately) as a 30 trial while one completes the registration and obtains the Serial Number (necessary for permanent registration/activation). And lastly note Adobe is quick to answer their (free) 800-833-6687 Customer Service number to answer any questions! Personally, I highly recommend both the product AND Amazon – who even had the best deal!
